This Privacy Policy describes how NetBid, a company based in the United States ("NetBid," "we," "us" or "our"), which owns and operates netbid.ai, handles information about the people who visit our website and use our services. It explains what we collect, how we collect it, what we do with it, who we share it with and the choices available to you. It also covers information that does not identify you personally.
By visiting or using our website, you agree to the collection, use and transfer of personal and non-personal information as set out in this policy, without limitation or qualification. Please read it carefully. If you do not agree with how we handle information, please do not use the website, or contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") and other applicable privacy laws, NetBid acts as a data controller (or "business") for the personal data of our website visitors and service users, including information we receive while providing services to our clients and business partners.
1. Information we collect
We collect two broad kinds of information: information that does not identify you and is anonymous ("Non-Personal Information"), and information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you ("Personal Information").
Information you give us. Personal Information includes details you knowingly and voluntarily provide, details provided by an organization you represent or are associated with, and details generated through your use of our website. This may include your full name, postal address, telephone and mobile numbers, email address, payment details, and any other information you share when you communicate with us through our website or services. If you give us information about other people, we collect that information too. You can choose not to provide Personal Information, but some products, services, promotions, sweepstakes or contests may then be unavailable to you.
Information collected automatically. Your browser or device sends certain information when you use our website or services, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and settings, the date and time of your visit, and how you interact with our pages. We also record which areas of the website you visit, which services you use, details of your computer hardware and software, domain names, access times and websites you visited before ours. We may also obtain location data relating to the device you use to access the website.
2. How we collect information
We collect information as you use our website and while we provide our services, either on our own or with the help of third-party providers described below. We use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, log files, local storage and similar technologies to collect information automatically, including IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, operating system, date and time stamps and clickstream data. We use this information to analyze trends, run the website, understand how visitors move through it and learn about the demographics of our audience as a whole. Reports based on these technologies may be individual or aggregated. We may also place cookies on your devices, as explained in the Cookies section below.
We also collect the Personal Information needed to provide and improve our services when you express interest or submit a request, when you enter information yourself or it is entered automatically, when we prepare a contract with you, or when you otherwise deal with us. If you contact us for support, we collect the information you give us during that contact.
3. How we use information
3.1 Delivering what you asked for
We use the information gathered through our website to provide the products and services you request. This can involve passing your information to third parties who supply those products or services. Our agreements require these third parties to comply with the law, but we cannot guarantee their privacy practices. If you have questions about their handling of your data, or want your information removed from their records, please contact them directly.
3.2 Running and improving our website and services
We use information to answer your enquiries, to operate the website and our services and improve how they work, and to deliver the products and services advertised on the website. Our services include showing personalized products, content and advertising based on your experience and interests. We also use information to meet our legal obligations and to resolve disputes or concerns.
3.3 Marketing
We use the information you give us to send you advertisements, promotions and third-party content we believe may interest you. To do this we may anonymize and aggregate information for purposes such as traffic analysis, usage analysis, product development, market research and reporting. We may also share Personal Information and Non-Personal Information with our affiliates and parent companies so they can send you offers for products and services you may be interested in.
If you do not want us to use your email address or other contact details to promote our own or third-party products or services, you can opt out at any time by emailing support@netbid.ai with the subject "Marketing opt-out," or by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send. This opt-out does not cover information provided to us in connection with a purchase, warranty registration, product service or other transaction.
3.4 Artificial intelligence and automated tools
We may use artificial intelligence, machine learning and other automated technologies, whether built by us or supplied by trusted service providers, to help operate, maintain, secure, analyze and improve our website and services. Examples include organizing information, detecting fraud and abuse, supporting customer service, measuring website performance, producing summaries, spotting trends, personalizing content where permitted and supporting internal operations. These outputs support human decision-making. They are not meant to replace human judgment where important decisions affecting individuals are made.
4. How we share information
We share Personal Information with third parties only as described in this policy.
(a) Requests for products and services. When you ask, on or through our website, for information about products or services offered by third parties, we share the information you provide with those third parties so they can tell you more about what you requested. If you include a telephone number or email address with your request, you agree that those third parties may contact you at that number or address by telephone, email or text message, including by automated dialing systems, pre-recorded or artificial voice messages and automated texts, about insurance and other products, services and marketing or telemarketing offers. You authorize this contact even if your number appears on a federal, state, local or corporate Do Not Call list or registry. These third parties may also verify the information you provided using other sources, including consumer reports such as your credit score and driving record. You are not required to buy anything from these third parties, and you may withdraw your consent at any time by telling the third party who contacted you that you no longer wish to be contacted about your original enquiry.
(b) Service providers. We share information with companies and individuals who perform technical and business functions for us, such as hosting the website, analyzing data, providing marketing support, processing card payments and delivering customer service. They may use your information only to perform those functions for us, and may not share it with anyone else or use it for any other purpose.
(c) Aggregated information. We share aggregated, de-identified information about you, combined with information about other visitors, so that third parties can understand what kinds of visitors use our website and how they use it. This includes demographic and behavioral information.
(d) Legal requirements. We disclose information where the law requires it, or at our discretion in response to a request from a government authority, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:
- comply with the law or with legal process;
- protect our rights or property, or those of our affiliated companies;
- prevent crime or protect national security; or
- protect the personal safety of users or the public.
(e) Business transfers. If another company acquires all or part of our business, whether by merger, consolidation or purchase of all or a substantial portion of our assets, we may disclose and transfer your information to that company. If we become subject to insolvency proceedings, whether voluntary or involuntary, we or our liquidator, administrator or receiver may sell, license or otherwise dispose of that information in a transaction approved by the court.
5. Third parties on our website
Advertisers. Advertising agencies, ad networks and other companies that place ads on our website may use their own cookies, web beacons and other technologies to collect information about you. Our agreements require them to comply with the law, but we do not control these technologies and cannot guarantee that they are used lawfully.
Links to other websites. Our website and emails sometimes link to websites owned by third parties. These links are provided for your convenience and reference only. We do not operate or control those websites or any information, software, products or services available on them, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse the website, its products or services, or the organization behind it. Please read each website's own privacy policy to understand how it handles data.
Analytics. As described above, we use third parties to monitor, analyze and report on traffic to, from and within our website and emails.
6. Where we store information
We store Personal Information on servers that we own or control, or that are operated on our behalf by reputable cloud service providers in the United States. See the next section for information about international transfers.
7. International transfers (EEA and UK residents)
Personal Information may be transferred to, stored and used in countries outside the European Economic Area that may not have data protection laws equivalent to those in the EU. When we transfer Personal Information out of the EEA, we take all reasonably necessary steps to make sure it is protected by appropriate safeguards and handled securely and in line with this policy.
Transfers to the United States. We store Personal Information on servers located in the United States. These transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or on recipients that participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, as applicable.
We may transfer Personal Information outside the EU in order to:
- store or back up the information;
- provide you with our products and services and perform our contract with you;
- meet legal, audit, ethical or compliance obligations that require the transfer;
- analyze information to improve our website and services;
- support the operation of our group businesses, including with business partners, where this is in our legitimate interests and those interests are not overridden by your rights; and
- serve customers in multiple jurisdictions.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
When you visit or use our website or services, we may use industry-standard technologies such as cookies, pixels and similar tools. These store certain information on your computer or device, which lets us recognize the device and, in some cases, associate it with you, turn on certain features automatically and make the website easier to use.
We use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain afterwards and may be read on later visits. We may also use web beacons (also called clear GIFs or pixel tags), which are tiny graphics with unique identifiers placed in a web page's code.
Cookies record small amounts of information about the actions you take on our pages. They help us see which features you use most and what content you viewed on earlier visits, remember your settings, and support authentication. We may use them to count return visits and to record clicks, scrolling, mouse movements, navigation paths, referring URLs, device and browser characteristics, approximate location, timestamps, session identifiers and interactions with website features. We also use them to compile aggregate statistics about the website and to show you content based on what you have viewed before.
We work with third-party marketing companies that use cookies to serve advertising. You can set your browser to accept or refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when a cookie is set. Every browser handles this differently, so please check your browser's settings or help pages. If you disable or refuse cookies, some parts of the website may not work properly, and some features require cookies in order to function.
9. Security
We work to safeguard the information you give us, both online and offline. We have measures in place to protect Personal Information under our control against loss, misuse and alteration. Our servers are kept in a secure physical environment and protected by industry-standard firewalls. Access to them is password-protected and limited to authorized personnel. We use Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption to protect information, including payment card numbers, names and addresses, while it travels over the internet.
Although we take commercially reasonable technical precautions, no transmission of data over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise that your information will always be safe. You transmit information to and through our website at your own risk.
10. Your rights under the GDPR
If the GDPR applies to your data, you have rights under the GDPR and local law. Depending on the circumstances, these include the rights to access, correct, erase and port your data and to object to its processing. These rights cannot be exercised in a way that conflicts with the rights of our employees and staff, our proprietary rights or the rights of third parties. For example, references, reviews, internal notes and assessments, and documents containing proprietary information or intellectual property cannot be accessed, erased or corrected through a data subject request. These rights may also not apply to unstructured data, such as emails, or where another exemption applies. Where we process data based on your consent, you can generally withdraw that consent.
Where we are the controller, you can ask us to access, change, delete or retrieve your Personal Information by emailing support@netbid.ai. We may need to verify your identity before we act on your request, and we may keep a record of the request for our own compliance and audit purposes. Depending on technical and commercial feasibility, Personal Information may be deleted, or kept in aggregated form that is no longer linked to you or to any identifier, and we may continue to use that aggregated information.
If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority where you normally live. If the authority does not deal with your complaint, you may have the right to an effective judicial remedy.
11. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, local law may give you additional rights and information about your data. This applies, for example, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia and other states. California residents should read our California Privacy Notice.
12. Children
Our website is not intended for anyone under 16 years of age, and no one under 16 may provide Personal Information to or on the website. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use the website or any of its features, make purchases through it, or give us any information about yourself, including your name, address, telephone number, email address or any screen name or username. If we learn that we have collected or received Personal Information from a child under 16 without verified parental consent, we will delete it. If you believe we may hold information from or about a child under 16, please email support@netbid.ai.
13. Changes to this policy
We may make material changes to this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will post a prominent notice on the website, so that you always know what information we collect, how we may use it and to whom we may disclose it.
14. "Do Not Track" signals
"Do Not Track" is a setting in some web browsers that tells websites you do not want to be tracked. Our website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
15. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, please email us at support@netbid.ai.
